zikr-e-shab-e-firaq se wahsaht use bhi thee,
meri tarha kisi se mohabbat use bhi thee,

main bhi aadi tha naye chehron ki deed ka,
rasta badal ke chalney ki aadat use bhi thee.

us shaam bahut der tak wo raha mehv-e-guftugoo,
masroof main bhi kum thee, faraghat use bhi thee.


sunta tha wo sab se puranee kahaniyan,
shayad rifaqaton ki zaroorat use bhi thee.

wo bichda hai mujhse tou khula ye bhhed,
saye se pyaar, dhoop se nafrat use bhi thee.

naa ho udass aye muntazir ke wo bad zauq,
keh naa saka per tujhse mohabbat use bhi thee.
